Hi there! i’m katelyn.

Hello, and welcome to the KJ Blog! I'm Katelyn James, and my husband Michael and I are a wedding photography team based in Richmond, Virginia. Main Street Engagement Session, Richmond VA

  • James + Aimee | Engaged

always been really proud of the fact that Michael and I have been together for SO long. I mean, dating for 8 YEARS is impressive, right? I think so. We’ve been together since I was 15 and he was 17. So when I’m walking around with my couples during an engagement shoot and I ask them how long they’ve been together, I almost ALWAYS have them beat by at least 4 years… welp! Not this time! Nope. Aimee and James have broken the record. 12 YEARS! They have been dating for 12 years and they would win every “Long term dating” contest by a landslide!!

February 2013

  • The Snapshot

post used to be so in depth. I think I have slowly made them less intricate because if I write fewer goals, the less I have to live up to! If I’m REALLY being honest, sometimes I don’t even remember the goals that I blog about until a month goes by and it’s time to write new goals. YIKES! That’s NOT how it’s supposed to work. Luckily, I’ve accomplished a lot in January 2013 and I’m feeling good about this new year. Ok, so while I may not have accomplished the goals that I blogged at the beginning of last month, we HAVE had a productive 4 weeks.

Life Planning Outline

  • Big Decisions & How to Make them

Michael and I were just on Showit LIVE on Wednesday and we were talking about our journey to becoming a husband/wife team. It was a long one and it wasn’t easy. This decision was something that we prayed about, sought counsel about and really thought about for a LONG time. I think we all can relate to big decisions like this. Whether it’s deciding what college to go to or whether it’s deciding to except a job offer, big decisions are hard to make. We’re extremely thankful for people in our life that were there to help us walk through this discernment process. Michael and I were a part of an amazing group of young married couples in ministry last year.
