  • The Snapshot

again. A new month.  August didn’t fly by quite as fast as the other months this summer and I’m thankful.  I think that’s because I had a weekend off… YESSS! We still had things to do and weren’t in town but it was a weekend away with Michael and no wedding! The Lord knows what He’s doing when he gives you a weekend of NOTHING. I know a lot of photographers (including myself) have seasons of doubt when it comes to booking for next year.  We quickly become worried about those empty weekends… and I remember at one point last year thinking “Why is my AUGUST SO EMPTY?!!”.

  • Meet Amber

I really got to know Amber I’ve been hearing “Oh, you’re doing my senior pics!”. ha! She’s been talking about this for a WHILE and we FINALLY got them done this past week! Amber is entering her senior year and I can’t believe how fast these two+ years have flown by. One minute I’m meeting sophomores in highschool and the next minute they’re graduating!! It’s crazy!! So Amber know exactly what she wanted for her portraits. She wanted to shoot them on her family’s farm in Goochland. It’s a beautiful location with rustic barns, old tractors, barking hunting dogs and a lot of golden light that was so perfect for her portraits!!

my way home from a wedding in Northern VA when I realized that I had hit the point in my drive where gummy bears were needed. Gummies and a DMD (Diet Mountain Dew)… all of you health nuts out there are probably cringing. I know, it’s so bad but on this particular night I was tired…. really tired. It had been a long week and I had just shot a long wedding. (I will have you know that I have significantly reduced my DMD intake and I’m quite proud of myself!).  So I pulled off the Stafford exit to make a quick stop at WAWA, my all time favorite convenience store, and I parked.
