The Eastern Shore

  • Gayton Youth Mission Trip 2012

and all of a sudden it hit me. I was going to be shooting a wedding all day Friday, all day Saturday and then getting up at 9am on Sunday to head to the Eastern Shore for our annual Mission Trip with our youth group! So what did that mean for me on Thursday night? EVERYTHING for the trip needed to be done. Packing, laundry, charging batteries, clearing cards, cleaning out the car, pre blogging for 5 days! YIKES! I have to admit that pre-trip, I was a bit stressed and I wondered “Why do I do this to myself?! This is just CRAZY!”.  No one is going to be in a good mood with 2 hours of sleep and then having to drive 4 hours behind a charter bus!

Country Farm Engagement Shoot | Louisa, VA

  • Engaged | Corey + Melissa

were rolling in FAST. And the faster they came, the quicker I drove. I feel sorry for the people that were passing me on those back country roads! I was on my way to meet Melissa and Corey for their eshoot and we HAD to make this happen on that afternoon. Why? Because only days after Corey proposed, he started a new job in New York at a Young Life camp. He had one visit back home and this was it! So we made it happen. We arrived at a family friend’s farm and I’m not even joking, we shot about 400 images in a matter of 23 minutes!! The dark blue clouds were SCARING me and so I kicked it into overdrive.

August 2012

  • The Snapshot

worst excuse for a self portrait EVER. The truth is, taking a self portrait every month isn’t as easy as I had hoped it would be. Gail Werner makes it look like a BREEZE! So no selfy this month, just some more of Bokeh Boy.  He tends to take over most any photo shoot these days. He doesn’t like not being the center of attention… especially when there is a ball in the room! He’s about 9 months now and so we’re hoping he’s full grown! But man oh man does he have some energy! We are thinking we need to revisit puppy class again in the near future!! He just hasn’t latched on to his commands like he should!
