for shoots isn’t always the easiest task….especially when you’re long distance. Brittani and Dustin are living in South Carolina but Britt grew up in Maryland and so they decided to make a trip home for their engagement shoot. Since Britt is a fabulous photographer (check out her cute blog!), we both knew that their location needed to be beautiful and very “them”. That’s why it’s so great to work with other photographers! some people mention “professional lighting” before my wedding but I never paid any attention to what it was. It didn’t seem like a necessity at the time.  And then as I continued looking at magazines and reception images, the shots that caught my eye were so COLORFUL and evenly lit and VIBRANT.  I slowly began to realize that the “look” I loved involved something more than just overhead lighting. I think so often this is a part of the wedding planning process that is overlooked because it doesn’t seem necessary. A Wine Themed Wedding | The Williamsburg Lodge

Williamsburg is known for it’s history. Colonial buildings, historic tours, great food… it’s all there. People come from all over the world to visit this historic area and walk the streets of merchant square. As much as Williamsburg is a great tourist location, it’s also a beautiful location to get married!! Joe and Kathleen decided a year ago to be married at the Williamsburg Lodge and it was a perfect pick for them! The lodge is tucked away on one of the side streets of Williamsburg and it’s surrounded by gardens and historic homes. It’s a wonderful location… but the best part is that the lodge is WELL air conditioned!! Yup, it was another hot one! The temperature in the dash of my car read 103 when we arrived
