Michael & Jill’s 30th Birthday Celebration

  • In The Bahamas

Most of you probably already know this…. but Michael turned 30 this past weekend! What you may not know is that our best friend Jill turned 30 as well! She was born one day before Michael in the SAME hospital 30 years ago and their parents were actually friends who went to the same church!! Soon after they were born, Michael’s parents moved away and they never saw one another again until freshman move-in day of COLLEGE!!! Michael and his parents saw Jill and her parents in their freshman dorm and they re-connected!!

Wedding Guest Style Guide

  • Wedding Wednesday

I’ll be honest. I feel like this post doesn’t ever apply to me. Like…. EVER. I’ve attended approximately 2 weddings in the last 7 years as a GUEST while most people attend about 7 per year on average!! It’s crazy! I’m ALWAYS shooting the weddings that I attend and that normally dictates my attire. However, I do know that there are a lot of unknowns when it comes to how casual or how formal a wedding guest’s attire should be. It can be nerve-wracking to show up to a wedding in a floor length gown and then realize that only ONE other guest is dressed that formally!

Connect Retreat Recap

We were in the midst of transitioning into becoming a husband and wife team and life just felt crazy. Fast forward 4 years later and life still feels crazy. We thought that that season was going to be our big season of growth. We learned some really big lessons about trust when Michael left his job at the church and joined me. Recently we learned a lot about trust when we bought land and then our house wouldn’t sell for over 10 months. We learned a lot about ourselves and our relationship with the Lord during those seasons.
