The Importance of Having a “Person”

  • Wedding Wednesday

So you’re planning for your big day. It’s just around the corner and you’re wondering if you’re forgetting anything!! Well, I hate to say it but you probably are. It’s just normal for a bride to forget something and that’s ok. Your friends, family and wedding team will make sure that they have everything covered so that you can enjoy the day. However, if you’re like me and did a lot of the wedding planning yourself, you’re going to need HELP. We worked with Anna Burke Events for our own wedding and she was amazing! She keeps everyone in line and she never misses a beat!!

Real Life : New Years Eve Wedding Photographer

  • Missing the Kiss!

This past Thursday was New Years Eve and we did something a little different this year! Our dear friends Calvin and Brittany got married in Richmond and while we normally don’t take on New Years Eve weddings, we do make exceptions for close friend’s weddings!! Not only did we get to spend New Years Eve with some of our best friends, I photographed the wedding WITH my bestie Jilly!!!!! Jill started shooting with me before Michael joined me and we loved it. That’s really when we got super close to Bud and Jill!

Work from Rest, Rest from Work

  • Enjoying the Down Time

Work from rest and rest from work. We’re not perfect at it but we’re trying to get better at making time to have fun and get away from the laptop. This weekend we fly to Illinois to speak at the Reset Conference and then we headed to Big Spring Farm for a few days. It’s amazing what 2-3 days of minimal working can do for the soul. We all need that. Michael and I know that we need to work on our “resting” skills. It really doesn’t come natural for me….. but the past 3 days were proof that I’m getting better… little by little! :)
