• Lazy Mondays

floor is covered in articles of clothing. Shirts, jeans, jackets, sweatpants, sweaters…. I don’t even remember which ones are clean and which ones need to be added to the massive “Laundry” pile in the hallway.  The kitchen counter has a HUGE stack of mail on the counter and underneath that stack of unread bills and letters is my tax packet that I need to fill out for my CPA…. by the end of this week.  My inbox is overflowing and I still haven’t caught up with emails since our trip to Vegas. I’m hosting a workshop in three weeks and I need to send emails and order food and plan… BIGTIME…. and I have a puppy… a sweet fluffy puppy that we have been

away from for 7 days. Today I woke up with tons of thoughts going through my mind but really … all I wanted to do was lay in bed… with my puppy and my husband….. so that’s what we did. The alarm went off and we chose not to move. After a week at WPPI, flying home and then leaving for a ski trip… and then putting on a HUGE event at church Sunday night…. we are exhausted. So even though we lost an hour of productivity this morning… our lazy Monday morning was worth it. Michael has left for class (he’s in seminary) and my job is to make our house back into a HOME today. We’ll openly admit that we’re tired and  have moments of being overwhelmed…. and that’s why mornings like this morning are so necessary.  Sometimes all we need is some prayer time and a 13 week old puppy to remind us that life is precious and it’s too short to not lay in bed for an extra hour.  Happy Monday! Here’s to a great week!

amen and amen! i had to get up early (5:00 am) to take aaron to the airport this morning, and when i got back at 6:00 i allowed myself to go back to sleep for 4 hours, instead of 3. i had never really caught up from WPPI, and i needed a lazy morning today, too. here’s to Mondays starting off slowly!

I think that extra hour in bed with those two guys was the wisest thing to do to start out your week :-) Welcome home and good luck with making progress this week!

I was at WPPI too and I am so glad to hear I’m not the only one feeling the post trip lag! All of the amazing ideas and inspiration from the week are swirling around in my head and I can’t wait to get to work. Right after I get my body to make the 3 hour time change!

good for you, girl. sometimes we need to just STOP what we’re doing and recognize that to operate on all cylinders, we need time off. I need to do this more often!

Girl, I totally agree! It’s hard to just stop and appreciate what we have around us, and in order to do that… we need lazy mornings to take it all in! We are so blessed to have what we have!

Awe!!!! Bokeh. I miss him! I would luv to “puppy-sit” again soon! . . . if you need a break from that cute little fella. Glad you enjoyed some extra rest and relaxation with your guys. :)

I couldn’t agree more! But it’s comforting to know there are other photographers out there who decide to have a lazy morning instead of working now and then. I need to have my husband read this blog post! Haha.
