3 Tips for Shooting a Triple Header

As we left the UNITED conference, people were asking me “So are you done with wedding season?” and my response was…. “Almost! After this weekend we’re officially done!”. Then, they said “Oh that’s awesome! One more to go! You can do it!”. That’s when I dropped the bomb and said “oh no, not one… THREE!”. We photographed three weddings this weekend and we made it! We booked this weekend a while ago and we thought long and hard about if this was something that we could accomplish and we determined it was.

The Overall Album Design Process

photographers have asked about two different topics. They ask 1. How do you shoot so many portraits and 2. How do you shoot with an album in mind. Well the answers to these two questions are closely related! The way I shoot portraits ensures that I will have a ton to choose from AND that the album spreads will be cohesive.  This past week I have been working HARD on album designs. I think I’ve completed almost 8 of them and I’m on a roll! Before we get too far into this post, let me explain my album process. I like to design my albums first, with the images that I think look the best.

first started, I blog stalked like no one’s business. I watched my favorite photographer’s EVERY move! It wasn’t because I was a creeper… even though at times I felt like one… it was because I was desperate to LEARN.  I seriously learned SO much from reading other photographer’s blogs and watching them as they continued to grow THEIR business. I wanted whatever lenses Jasmine was shooting with and whatever light setup Justin and Mary were using etc. etc. There is nothing wrong with that! It gave me a place to START! However, I think I’m finally at a place where I’m making decisions based on what “I” need for my business,
