My Thought Process : Changing the Timeline Due to Weather

If you’re a wedding photographer, there is one un-avoidable stressor that you simply cannot avoid. You can educate your couples on so many different levels and help them avoid stressful situations the day-of but there will ALWAYS be one stressful aspect of the day that wedding photographers cannot avoid. I’m talking about making the call about “PORTRAIT TIME”. There are so many variables that affect portrait time with the bride and groom. The hard decisions come in when the weather isn’t cooperating with your timeline!

Sometimes I wonder if there is anything left to teach after hosting workshops, coaching and online resources for over 4 years now. Are there really MORE areas of the wedding day that photographers need help with? The answer is YES. I could break down the wedding day piece by piece and really never run out of advice to share! Over the years I have established patterns in the way that I photograph wedding days. It used to be that I only held myself accountable to getting AWESOME portraits at every wedding.

  • Our Real Life

This is my favorite post of the year. Hands down! I laughed so hard I almost cried. These pictures are so unflattering in so many ways but because I love you guys, I’m going to forget how embarrassing they are and show them anyway! This year we photographed 31 weddings and we have one on New Years Eve and so I’m going to count that as a 2016 wedding!! This year has been amazing and as I look back through these BTS images, I laughed but I was also overcome with thankfulness.
